Our day out in Cork City
YSI Speak Out in Cork City Hall
We went to the YSI Speak Out in Cork to present our idea Nascadh le Cheile to a panel of judges and other YSI groups from all over the country.
In the weeks coming up to our presentation we made signs and posters to use to help promote our idea which is to promote young people volunteering. We sacrificed our own time after school in order to rehearse our choreography and practice our speech for the Speak Out. Different members of our team made signs to advertise the different charities that we have helped, such as The Irish Cancer Society and Pieta House. Our artistic team mates painted props and students volunteered to act during the presentation. After two days of hard work, we were finally ready for the Speak Out in Cork.
On the way to Cork we all took the bus with Mrs. Brennan to the venue. We took our seats in Cork City Hall and watched the other schools present their ideas. When it got to our turn we were all nervous but once we got on the stage we enjoyed it and we were proud that our hard work paid off. The crowd clapped along to our song and we were satisfied leaving Cork City Hall.
